I’m going to pretend I live in the United Kingdom and talk about the weather we had this past weekend. You can chalk it up to the fact that I watched way too many Mumbo Jumbo Minecraft videos. However, there wasn’t much choice on Saturday. I could barely move with the sudden increase in temperature and the bun sisters were little furry puddles on the floor.
There was a glimmer of a chance that I was finally going to spin some yarn on the deck. But by 10 am Saturday, it was clear that there would have been more fiber stuck to my sweaty fingertips than what would go on the bobbin so I ditched that plan. The heat was better suited to drying the laundry I did a day early.
Sunday rolled around and everything suddenly went in the opposite direction. Not even 24 hours after contemplating uncovering the air conditioner, I caved and turned the heater on. I spent Sunday afternoon trying to remember what warmth was as the rain started as mist and slowly turned into torrential downpours. The wind from the cold front made the temperature drop 60 degrees in less than a day according to my not-so-accurate weather station. Reality is more like 45 degrees, but even that is a bit insane when you think about it.
Crazy April Weather
It snowed in April and not only once. Looking at last Monday’s post I see that I hinted that some snow might fall. I can’t remember if it actually did more than a flake or two. This crazy weather makes it hard to keep the days straight. Combine that with an under-the-weather Mokona and all bets are off that my mind is functioning. (She’s better. Thank you for asking.)
The weather for the rest of this week looks to be about average for April with nothing crazy in the forecast. Maybe if I bundle up a bit or wait until the sun is shining, I might be able to take Loki out to spin. But with the way things are going, I am not going to hold out any hopes until I actually do it.
How is the weather where you live? Is it fairly normal for this time of the year? Or are you experiencing weird weather too? Let me know in the comments below.
Have an excellent day!
