Today’s Pattern Finds on Ravelry

Today’s pattern finds are both summer and Farm Fair related.  I took a quick look at the first five pages of the most recently posted crochet patterns on Ravelry and was pleasantly surprised at what I found.  Though there is not enough time in my day to crochet them all, I wanted to highlight them in case you are interested in giving them a try.

Note:  These are mostly paid patterns.  It takes many hours of hard creative work to design a pattern so if you really like what you see, making a purchase is a great way to support the designer.

Farm Fair Patterns

Since I’ll be venturing out this afternoon to check out this year’s Burlington County Farm Fair I wanted to show you a few patterns that seem relative.

First up is an adorable Classic Tractor Applique.  I saw the annual Tractor Parade go by my parents’ house this past Sunday and this pattern reminds me of the iconic Farmall tractors that passed by us.  I’m sure that if you prefer John Deere or Massey Ferguson you could change the colors to match your favorite tractor.

OMG!  Merlin the Goat is just the cutest!  I’m sure I’ll see more than my fair share of these fun guys as I visit the animal tents.

Loopy Mabel’s Jam Jar Covers are the ultimate Farm Fair icon if you ask me.  What is more familiar that the Home Arts tent where you can see the many jars of delicious jams that were handmade with love?

I’m not sure that there will be many on display, but this Cabbage amigurumi would win first prize for its cuteness!

Other Summer Inspired Patterns

What could make you think of summer more than a watermelon?  The refreshing juiciness makes you forget for a moment that you are sweating your bum off under the sweltering sun.  This Watermelon Cutie Sundress and Hat Set will make any baby look deliciously adorable.  I don’t condemn the eating of small children so find an actual watermelon if this pattern is making you hungry.

Elena Hunt’s Lazy Daze Lawn Chair Cover is a free pattern that will make any trip to the beach more comfortable.  It’s a terrific way to redecorate an old lawn chair.

LooplyMade has a fun and free pattern for Sea Shell Coasters that will help you think of the beach if you are trying to avoid the typical summer traffic.  I really like the way they curl so they look like the real deal.

Reminiscent of a Past Blog Post

Though not summer related, the Be Kind Wall-Hanging is timeless in it’s important words.  Though this is a paid pattern, the words expressed on this wall hanging are priceless.  I wrote a post entitled Be Kind – Words to Live By which I continue to strongly believe is an important lesson for people today.  Jealousy is a disease.  Being mean is just rude.  You don’t understand the hardships others face so isn’t better to just be kind to them?

Have an excellent day!
